Why is the Credit Card Company Calling me?
There are a number of reasons why a credit card company may call a cardholder. Among the reasons is to insure that you are a satisfied client. This maybe done as a satisfaction survey using a number of questions to rate how satisfied you are with the service you are receiving.
The savvy credit cardholder will be aware that it could also be done as part of a promotional campaign. This could be either as a promotional event such as a special sale, or as a sales call promoting a special feature that a cardholder may or may not be using.
Another reason a credit card company may call a cardholder is if there has been some unusual activity on the credit card. This activity could be charges that are in a state or province that is across the country from your home state or province, or charges that are unusually large relative to your normal spending habits, or charges that are duplicated. If there is some activity that is out of the ordinary, the credit card company may call the cardholder to insure whether these charges are your own or whether someone else has been using your card.
There is another reason why the credit card company may call a cardholder and that is if there is a late or missed payment on the account. If a statement has been issued on the account and a minimum payment is required on that statement and that payment is not received by the credit card company, the cardholder may be called by the credit card company.
